The Eagle Keep The Eagle Keep Argelès-Gazost

There are almost 50 species of bird of prey to admire at this world renowned centre ranging from barn owls to king vultures. Amongst their impressive array is the Peregrine Falcon, one of the deadliest bird hunters. Capable of reaching speeds of over 300km/h whilst in a dive it grasps its prey within its claws whilst still in full flight.

Set in the restored 11th century Beaucens castle 15kms east of Lourdes, it has views extending over the Pyrenees mountain range and provides a unique cage free setting in which to watch these birds of prey in flight.

The best time to go is in the afternoon when you can watch the falconers live demonstration with these majestic wild birds.
