Slope Information

La Pierre-Saint-Martin is the most westerly downhill ski resort in the Pyrenees at a height of 1650m elevation. It proudly boasts magnificent landscapes looking out over the pic d’Anie, the Spanish summits and the Béarn plains. La Pierre-Saint-Martin is a charming village where the chalets nestle into the surrounding pine forest at the foot of the slopes. This is the ideal family resort, perfect for a relaxing skiing break. Generally the snow conditions are good well into spring due to the climatic influence of the Atlantic.

With a ski domain totalling 55 hectares this is a good beginner to intermediate ski resort. Learners are well catered for with the beginners area set apart from the main pistes, ably served by a chair lift and 2 magic carpets.

For intermediates the exhilarating 3km red run from the top is a firm favourite and on a clear day you will enjoy the long 4.5km blue ‘Boulevard des Pyrenees’ descent whilst admiring the spectacular views over to the Atlantic Ocean.

For cross country skiing you can choose the tracks at La-Pierre-Saint-Martin but the best is at Issarbe 5km away where there are 9 pisted trails stretching for 31km through the forests and a snow shoe trail. To complete the family winter offering there is a dedicated sledge park and a snow club for the little ones.

The resort continues its modernization with 3.4 million Euros investment in 2006 to further improve the lift system, the beginner’s area, widening the pistes and installing more snow cannons.
