Away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy resorts in Andorra, Vallnord Mountain Park is the combined offerings of Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalis. Not just a ski domain, Vallnord has set its stall out as a year round outdoor adventure sports destination and boasts a diverse range of activities perfect to entertain all the family.

In winter Vallnord cannot match Grandvalira for size but it does win in terms of challenge and diversity. Stretching right up to the Spanish frontier the Pal-Arinsal ski sector offers an attractive mix of well groomed, tree lined pistes ideal for the beginner and early intermediate as well as 3 freestyle zones; a 110m half pipe, snowpark including rails, spines, bumps, boxes and quarters plus a boardercross where snowboarders and skiers alike can freestyle down the 500m long slope. There is even a Junior Rail Zone for aspiring talent.

The compact Arcalis ski sector enjoys an excellent snow record. Nestled in the high wild peaks that serve as the border with France it serves up the most challenging terrain in Andorra; from long cruising blue runs through to steep, challenging blacks and an extensive, lift-served off-piste terrain.

Your choice of place to stay is equally diverse. Pal remains a tiny hamlet hidden away in a picturesque valley. Arinsal on the other hand is a favoured destination amongst British skiers and snowboarders with buzzing night life. Ordino, known as the Garden of Andorra is a town full of Pyrenean character and La Massana is a town in its own right now linked to the Pal slopes by gondola.

Additional winter activities around the Vallnord mountain park include mushing, paragliding, helicopter flights, snow shoeing and snow mobiles making this an excellent family choice.

In summer the Pal-Arinsal sector of the Vallnord mountain park offers an array of activities including 4x4 trails, quad bikes, cross country and downhill mountain bike circuits as well as horse riding. The Arcalis sector offers an exciting mix of canyoning, cross country and downhill mountain biking, Via ferrata and guided walks to cement Vallnordís reputation as a true all year round outdoor activity destination.
